I have been ta been taking phenoxymethylpenicillin for four days now i have a flat red blotchy rash on hands and feet and it burns i'm also 12wks preg?

???allergic rxn???: Penicillins are safe in pregnancy but you could still be allergic to it. I would stop taking it; take 25mg of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (it may make you sleepy, so don't drive); call & show rash to your ob. If having shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, call 911 immediately & inform your ob. There are many antibiotics which can safely be substituted in pregnancy. Let your OB decide if allergy or just a rxn.
