Smoking weed cause GERD. Do yourself a big favor and never smoke anything. Heartburn can also be prevented by avoiding alcohol, caffeine, spicy&oily foods. Taking famotidine as needed will relieve it. See your physician if your heartburn remains problematic but don't worry about any dreaded diseases.

Time to see your doc. Definitely a good thing that you no longer smoke weed. It is likely otherwise that anxiety contributes to your symptoms and will need to be addressed.
