Don't drink those: In general, pain is your body's way of warning you about something. If something hurts, stop. The definitive test for GERD is upper endoscopy or EGD, so without that we can only make an educated guess. There a other things (like ulcers, for example) that can cause the same symptoms, so it would be a good idea to get it checked out, but until then, avoid acidic/spicy foods, soda, coffee, alcohol
