Marijuana: Years ago, I remember seeing men in the hospital with lung cancer, pulling their chemotherapy on IV poles, and pulling their oxygen tanks with the other hand. One might think that lighting up a cigarette near an oxygen tank was not a good idea, nor cigarette smoking while under treatment for lung cancer. You need not "get it cured" but most doctors would not recommend you smoke.
