: Stitches are usually needed when a wound gaps open, to control bleeding or over a joint space when movement would cause it to open up. If none is true the wound may heal better without &amp; the decision is made by the doc who knows all the facts. Without seeing the injury it is not realistic to question a decision by a doc who has.
