Currently on tpn infusion, and limited to ice chips by mouth and sips of water w/meds no lg intestine, 5.5 ft of sm intestine in 3 unconnected segments, 2 drains still in place uni of mi surgical consult in 2 wks...will i ever eat again?

The best docs to answer this question would be those who have a full understanding of your case/underlying health/family history/and current exam. It all depends now on the ability of the surgeon to reconnect the small bowel portions to your remaining gi system, otherwise it is likely that you will remain TPN dependent.
