Been on nifedipine for high bp for over 5 years, started experiencing swelling ankles and excessive sweating esp. at night. i suspected the med, so i went from 90mg to 30mg and they lessened,why is it just now causing me problems? 30mg dont help bp?

Nifedipine is known to cause swelling in the lower extremities. It is not clear whether your blood pressure remains controlled on your current dose. If it is not controlled, it may need additional medications for control. It is not uncommon for blood pressure control to need more than one medication. I am not sure I understand what you mean by "30 mgm don't help BP?" Please follow up.
