2 months ago an abdominal ct showed an incidental finding. 2 mm non calcified pleural based nodule on the left lower lobe non specific. should i be concerned?

No need to be concerned. These pleural nodules are more common than most people realize . I've actually had one for over 20 years. It is like scar tissue, probably from some infection you had as a kid or young adult. The infection irritated the pleura and then developed and left some "scar" tissue. It's just there now, doesn't affect lung function. Not to worry!

The tiny size of the pleural nodule does not sound concerning to me (if that number 2mm is correct). Your doctor may ask for a follow up study after several months to determine that it is not getting larger in size. It is not uncommon to occasionally find incidental small nodules (often called granuloma) that are most often not dangerous or cancerous. Follow up with your doctors recommendation
