Hrct: bilateral apical pleural thickening. calcified nodule with lobulated margins of 8x8mm at left lower lobe. subtle bronchiectatic changes seen. no ground glass or pleural effusion noted. asthmatic since birth n had tb 5 yrs ago? any concern nw?

These findings can only be interpreted with knowledge of information about your symptoms, clinical status (like exercise tolerance, blood oxygenation, pulmonary function tests), and factors that predispose to lung problems in addition to your asthma and past TB. The bilateral pleural thickening and bronchiectasis is likely related to previous TB and infection. The larger single calcified nodule may be further assessed in relation to risk factors and other details. Discuss whether a PET scan is indicated with your physician. Otherwise a repeat CT is recommended in three months.
