A member asked:

What are good homecare strategies (hydrotherapy and/or stretches) for chronic shin splints?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Shin splints are usually a biomechanical problem and an “overuse injury .” It has to do with the Posterior Tibialis muscle and where it is attached on the tibia. When this muscle is over used due to excessive pronation shin splints can develop. Wearing supportive shoes or orthotics can help. Ice messaging in AM. And ice in PM. Ibuprofen or Aleve. If continues see podiatrist
