I had a root canal 3 weeks ago because of tooth abscess. i was prescribed two different antibiotics. the tooth is still giving me a lot of pain. did the root canal not work? ive had root canal in the past and im pain free in a few days?

There are many possibilities to your problem. There may be an unresolved infection, an accessory canal, a fractured root, or resistant bacteria. Please consult with the dentist performing the treatment.

Many possibilities including, but not limited to, fracture, intractable infection, accessory canal, high filling, etc. As tooth is not responding to antibiotic therapy, evaluation by a specialist Endodontist is in order.
