Had stinging feeling in arms/hands/neck. xray showed consistent with arthritis. i'm 36. is this common? it happened after my 1st covid jab. should i get a second? i'm breastfeeding, and have factor v leiden (one copy)?

The incidental finding on XRay of some arthritic changes is actually common. Such changes start earlier than you think; we just don't get Xrays to see them. Your stinging is not related unless the arthritis is in your neck; use an NSAID for that. Neither is related to the vaccine. Definitely get your 2nd dose, especially if breastfeeding. It will protect your baby. You have no contraindications.

There are a variety of causes of Arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis/ Lupus/ Fibromyalgia are autoimmune disorders which show inflammatory arthritis as a result of the body attacking itself. Osteoarthritis is an age related disorder which results from long term use and deterioration. Gout arthritis is a result of uric acid crystals within the joint which can cause damage. Each is treated differently.
