Does pyelonephritis tend to develop quickly or over a long period of time? and is it normal to still have flank and bladder pain after finishing antibiotics (ciprofloxacin) (for kidney infection) sensitive to bacteria 1-2 weeks later?

Pyelonephritis can result from an infection ascending from the bladder up into the kidney. If you have been treated with Cipro, it may be that you have additional problems in your kidney such as scarring from the infection or kidney stones. Talk to your urologist for a follow up exam and imaging to determine the next steps in treatment.
