Although oral cavity is full of bacteria, severe infection due to tongue bite during convulsion rarely happens. It usually heals within a week.

Agree with Dr Le that infection would be rare. Am more concerned about epilepsy control. If appropriate medications are on board and not missed, you should not be having convulsive events. Contact your neurologist today. Do NOT drive, do activities at heights, operate power equipment, take a bath or swim alone. Be proactive and prevent further seizures.
