A member asked:

What is the risk of retinal detachment after a concussion? all oct test results were normal. a slit lamp exam performed by an ophthalmologist found normal, healthy retinas but partial vitreous shift causing new floaters. trauma occurred 7 months ago?

Retinal detachments following trauma are usually the result of disruption and collapse of the vitreous gel. If this has not happened in 7 months, it is fairly unlikely to. However, trauma is a life-long risk factor for retinal detachments and should be evaluated regularly and immediately if symptoms worsen.

Not clear from your report if a partial vitreous detachment did occur, but appears that retinal detachment did not occur. It appears you are not destined to have ocular issues at this point.
