Doesn't sound like a retinal detachment. Typically retinal detachments will present with flashing lights, floaters, and a curtain-like defect in your vision that doesn't go away. Also they tend to progress over time. In any case, I would still recommend an eye exam to figure out what's contributing to your symptoms but it's unlikely to be a retinal detachment.

What your describing sounds more like a collapse of the vitreous gel and not a retinal detachment. Regardless, you should avoid doing anything such as turning your head side to side to "test" whether you're still having the problem. There are no professional eye care products that address any of these issues. If you want to be sure you don't have a retinal detachment, see an .ophthalmologist
