A ct scan showed a solitary thyroid nodule and a solitary nodule in my upper lung. are these often related?

Could be: There is a possibility of secondaries from thyroid carcionima to to deposited in the lungs. But will have to check with a physician to see if the symptoms match and also need to possibly biopsy the nodes and the nodule.

No: This association would be very uncommon. They are likely unrelated. Your doctor should be able to advise you on the risk of cancer of these two nodules.

No: These two findings are quite common individually, so finding them together is not unusual. Please make sure to get all appropriate followup as directed by your physician.
