In well trained hands this is safe. This is an age group where the procedure itself is relatively common. One factor to consider is the willingness/ability of the patient to pursue the rehabilitation after required for the best outcome. It requires hard work & is sometimes painful.

Yes it is safe and not an unusual age for the procedure. In bone on bone cases really the only alternative. Anesthesia risk depends on other underlying medical conditions. Also newer anesthetic blocks like exparel a long acting marcaine have helped reduce anesthetic levels and give excellent post operative pain control.
