: It can take days to weeks. An X-ray may be needed to be sure it is a bruise and not a fracture. If it is a bruise, at the beginning, icing the area can help. Also, taking ibuprofen if you have no medical contraindication to taking that. Then sitting on a soft pillow/cushion can help with the discomfort. Hope you feel better soon!
