A member asked:

If someone maskless presumed vaccinated with the delta variant is next to you (me maskless) and then leaves after a few seconds without talking/opening mouth (breathes through nose), what is the rate of transmission? i'm still unclear?

There are NO statistics regarding your question. But, all three of our American vaccines appear to confer protection against the Delta variant as well as the original COVID-19 form. Reports that vaccinated individuals can carry the virus and infect others is totally unconfirmed. The infection is transferred via droplets, via coughing, sneezing. If worried, wear a mask.

Until recently, the infection rate was low, but with the rise in the delta coronavirus variant, it is more and more likely that the person next to you is infected. Wear a mask. Or choose not to wear a mask if you prefer to take a higher risk. Outdoors the risk is lower and should you stand at a distance, you are likely safe.
