I have a lump on my left front shin just below my knee i've had it for awhile but up until recently it stayed the same size now it's a little bigger and can be tender...what could it be?

Could be inflammation at the tibial tubercle the insertion of the patellar tendon onto the tibia. This often occurs with osgood-schlatters disease in younger individuals. In your case maybe due to tendonitis or bursitis seek care with orthopedist if it continues to worsen.
