There is no evidence for your age group that multivitamins have any use as long as you eat a normal diet. Vitamins are a huge market with no proof of even minimal effectiveness. The only thing you are likely to have deficient is iron, and some might add vitamin D but that is all. If you insist then I would check the local pharmacy or food store for the inexpensive house brand.

Common question on this HT site, and in general, a multivitamin is a waste of time and money. A well balanced diet in the USA provides your needs nicely. Vitamin D could likely be of value, if you have low blood levels. Some women require iron supplements. If you require advice in this area, find a dietician and commence a program.

The One a day multivitamin for women seem to help along with extra Vitamin C, E & D. Non constipating iron like Ferrous Sulfate also help if one has heavy menstrual flow.

Many over the counter multis have just enough of each ingredient in them to list them on the label. The RDAs the government gives us for guidance is overall generally low. Look for a brand that has a number of the ingredients far above the RDAs. Places like GNC and the Vitamin Shoppe offer a wide variety. Check w/your doctor to make sure all is well and that you can take a multi. Peace Healh.
