Hi doctors. in new york city the percentage of people who tested positive for covid over the last 7 days has remained the same at o.57%. this number is great, but is it bad that it hasn't changed in close to a week? shouldn't it have gone down (or up?

Confusing situation: Sorry, but do not truly understand much that has occurred in New York City, regarding COVID19. Maybe new leadership will help stabilize what I view as total disorganization. That said, the percentages always lag reality, so, keep checking and you might corroborate with current CDC numbers.

This is considered a lw overall incidence and with increasd vaccination rates is expected to decrease further. Continue to folow your local health departmnt stats. Continue to use gd handwashing and crowd avoidance.

Incidence has not changed but mortality has come down a lot because the infection is now prevalent at young people who have not been vaccinated but they are less likely having severe infection or die from Covid-19. So pay your attention more to the mortality rate, not the infection rate. The incidence will go down eventually unless current vaccine(s) does(do) not work with variant(s) but I doubt.
