Dr ran blood tests,path tests, pap smear all normal. estrogen normal. wants to do biopsy is that necess if all tests are normal.what else can my dr do? this vag and rectum burn feels like a fever down there. pse advise all tests that should be run?

There are many causes for burning in vaginal area and rectum. If 'tests' are normal pl. ask your MD what he/she suspects and reason for any biopsy

If the proposed biopsy is for endometrial tissue, a pre-biopsy ultrasound to evaluate endometrial thickening may be the reason. At age "46" (w/o taking oral bcps), sustained estrogen may cause endometrial hyperplasia. "Burning" at the vaginal and anal areas can be causes by chronic fungal (yeast) infections, but "burning" does not explain the reason for a biopsy.
