I would not recommend having a steroid injection at this point. You and your orthopaedic surgeon are still evaluating just how successful the viscosupplementation injection (the gel) has been. However, if you have not had any significant pain relief from the gel injection three months ago, you may want to consider a different type of viscosupplementation.
