A member asked:

Does rabies go spinal cord to brain and from brain to saliva in human body?

Dr. Jay Park answered

Your concept is right. Rabies virus multiplies in muscle or connective tissue at entry site and then enters peripheral nerve and spreads up to the central nervous system (CNS). It multiplies again in CNS and then spreads down through peripheral nerves to the salivary glands and other tissues.
