Could a tilted uterus affect the bpm picked up on an abdominal ultrasound during pregnancy? does an abdominal ultrasound have the ability to pick up my heartbeat instead of the baby's?

Yes, on both questions, time of the pregnancy also plays a role in picking up baby versus mother's heart beat. Usually ultrasound is viewing the baby, and seeing the heart beat. Doppler stethoscopes listen without viewing the actual heartbeat motion.
