A member asked:

Is this a sign of uterine, cervical, ovarian cancer ? 37f pcos on oral bc.had spotting 5 days before end of pack. then had 7 day medium heavy cycle.spotting still 3 days later.spotting is min now.i usually only have spotting on sugar pills. no pap?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Documented PCOS is treated with oral contraceptives to avoid constant estrogen production without ovulation. Use of oral bcp's requires taking the active pills within the hour of the previous day's active pill, or breakthrough bleeding may occur, with commensurate "period-like" bleeding possible. This is not a sign of uterine/ovarian or cervical cancer.
