Delivery normal?: Was there any hemorrhaging during delivery? If so, this can cause a necrosis of the pituitary gland (Sheehan’s syndrome.). Make sure your doctor checks your levels of estradiol, LH and TSH. Also check prolactin levels because a pituitary adenoma which elevates prolactin can also cause amenorrhea. That said, I have seen normal patients who have not had a period in return for close to a year.
