The light emission from a smartphone or computer monitor is just not strong enough to cause retinal damage, and the blue filters might provide comfort and do no harm. On the other hand, laser pointers are known to cause retinal damage, so avoid them and ask presenters to use red lasers as pointers, not the green ones which are too strong.
