I have this painful callus on my hand and i have tried to file it down, but the callus keeps coming back. and i was wondering if i can get it removed?

A callus is an area of thickened skin that arises due to mechanical abrasion or repeated pressure such as is found with certain repetitive manual labor (digging with a shovel, carrying boxes or packages, using handtools, etc). Filing it down will reduce the size and appearance temporarily, but it will just build up again unless the action causing it is changed.

Calluses might not be pretty, but they are protective. A callus grows where your skin has chronic friction (constantly rubbing against something). If you file the callus and continue your regular activities, you’ll change it for a painful blister.But,if it hurts too much,see a Dermatologist to cut it out and keep the area covered to protect it.Or,it may not be a callus but an inverted wart.
