A : A common condition is dupuytrens which is not related to typical blunt trauma. Other common problems include scar reaction adjacent to a small cut or blister, an inclusion cyst or foreign body and a ganglion of the tendon sheath where the finger and palm meet. A jammed finger typically is not related to these common conditions that present as a lump in the palm. Talk to your doctor about this for more information.

There : There are many possibilities for this hard lump. It could be a fibroma, the start of a dupuytren's contracture, a ganglion cyst... It's very difficult to say what this could be without seeing it in person and doing a thorough physical exam. It's probably best to see a physician who performs hand surgery since someone with this specialized training would have the most experience with various hand masses.
