A member asked:

After getting the covid vaccine, how long does it take for symptoms to happen (if they do) and how long till they go away?

Usually the soreness in the arm will start within 24 hours. The fatigue, headache, fever, nausea, rash may be the next day and usually resolve in 48 hours. For some it may last longer. Others have reported symptoms occurring 2 week later. For the more severe reaction it can last 1-2 weeks or longer.

THEY MAKE YOU WAIT 15 MINUTES AFTER INJECTION TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY ADVERSE SYMPTOMS. IF NONE THAN ANY STILL CAN OCCUR HOURS OR A DAY OR MORE LATER. SYMPTOMS CAN LAST A FEW DAYS OR A FEW WEEKS. IF HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR.

Severe reactions to vaccines almost always occur within six weeks following the vaccine. We are seeing very very few severe reactions to the Covid vaccines. Somewhere around five per million people are having severe allergic reactions.
