A member asked:

I am wondering if i can take afrin again after having used it once five days ago. is it possible to get rebound congestion if i use afrin once tonight and once tomorrow night?

Rebound nasal congestion would require much more frequent spraying of Afrin into your nasal passages. Your use of Afrin nasal decongestant spray appears quite appropriate.

Yes: Yes, but there are some important dosing points you’ll want to know about. It’s fine as long as it’s used for no more than three days in a row or twice in a 24-hour period. Otherwise, you risk having the congestion come back (“rebound congestion”) and no longer respond to the Afrin.
