A normal blood pressure reading would be 140/90 or less. When you stand up your blood pressure should be able to accommodate and still remained below this level. If your levels are/140/90 I would suggest you see your primary doctor for consideration of medical treatment.

It is not clear whether “upright” means change in posture or vigorous activity. The latter is normally associated with an increased BP and not of concern. BP recorded with sitting or upright posture without exercise. You could also record your blood pressure with ambulatory monitoring. The evaluation could also include measurement of hormones in some endocrine problems.
