Slow work: You're like an astronaut who's been in space for 3 months. You're deconditioned and your autonomic (involuntary) reflexes are depressed and sluggish. You must go slowly. First try propping up in bed (a hospital bed would be ideal) at an increasing angle for 5 - 10 minutes at a time. Gradually increase the time every 2-3 days. Try to dangle your legs next. Then try a chair. This may take weeks.
