How long does one transmit a cold after the first symptoms? i am on 40mg prednisone for a week. my girlfriend returns home. she has been sick for a week. no fever anymore,and not really many symptoms left. but still sounding nasal. when can i see her?

So traditionally, one waits at least 3 days after a fever has broken to say that one is clear from transmitting infection or moreso in need of any further treatment....however, in your case because you are immunocompromised from using prednisone for 1 week I would suggest being clear for her for at least 5-7 days...Also it is still possible that she may have some live virus in her nasal secretion
