Starting hormone replacement therapy containing estrogen at any age over 45 is a bad idea as it can lead to blood clots and stroke. A better option is one of many Biphosphonates which help prevent bone break down or osteoporosis. Talk to your Dr about your concern related to osteoporosis. They can monitor your bone density and keep an eye on your calcium levels and loss.
