Based on what?: My question would be, based on what evidence is it not a fistula? If that has truly been ruled out, than that's great, but otherwise keeping a high suspicion is prudent. If symptoms are resolving that is a good sign, but be vigilant, follow-up with your gyn, and consider a second opinion if concerned. Good luck!
