I do not see the importance of this feeling as long as either knee is functioning well, without other associated symptom and sign.

If you note no true temperature difference when you touch your knees then it's a sensation from superficial nerves around the knee and not the knee structures themselves. I attribute this to a type of irritability of the superficial nerves which has no serious implications of knee pathology.I have never seen any significant issue when patients complain of a localized cold sensation in a part of bi
