The undescended testicle is unlikely to move down to scrotal sac after 6 months of age. If his undescended one is still in inguinal canal, it has to be brought down by a surgery to preserve the reproductive function. However, undescended one is inside abdominal cavity, it has to be brought out and be placed inside scrotal sac for cosmetic purpose and for easier observation of malignant change.

Your son needs to see a urologist/ ped. urologist. He will need a good exam and tests e.g. ultrasound , C.T. to see if he has undescended testis or if he was born with only one. Pl do it soon.
