I've been prescribed metronidazole for dental infection. trying to conceive after miscarriage just over 3 months ago. age 43, i'm day 3 past ovulation of the two week wait. i am concerned if this antibiotic will affect implantation/conception? thanks?

I would avoid pregnancy when you are taking this drug. Get past the infection & let it get out of your system before you resume trying.

I wonder why your dentist prescribed Metronidazole for the dental infection. Are you allergic to Clindamycin or Penicillin's related antibiotics? By PDR: For indications other than trichomoniasis, avoid metronidazole during pregnancy whenever possible, with use occurring only after careful assessment of the potential risk to benefit ratio.
