Consider an ENT appointment, avoid irritants such as dust, mold, pollen and smoke. Rinse nasal passages with saline and discuss the indications of nasal steroid spray with your PCP.

Unfortunately, trying to restore olfactory function is quite difficult. Agree with my colleague, but there may be another pathway. Use of Zinc lozenges 2 or 3 times daily for 6-8 weeks may help, and would add Vitamin D-3 to the zinc. It is not a proven technique but anecdotally has worked in some.
