The underlying cause of the cough is important to determine. If the baby has congestion, infant nasal saline drops and gentle suction may be used to reduce post nasal drip and cough. Monitor the baby's temperature and if the Temperature is 100.4 F or higher, please see a physician right away. A chest radiograph may be indicated and please see your pediatrician. Avoid use of cough syrup.
