If the vaccine is given intramuscular, should work the same. The pain could be more significant in a small muscle and you need a person with experience in administration.

The jab should be administered intramuscularly (IM). When I watch injections given on TV about half of them are delivered subcutaneously (SQ). There is no way to know if your jab was IM or SQ. But, don't worry about which muscle was injected.
