Unlikely, but: There are other things that could cause your symptoms such as a stricture at the anastamosis (narrowing where you were put together) or adhesions from your surgery and a partial bowel obstruction. See your surgeon to evaluate.

I assume you: Had a cecal volvulus, correct? If so, recurrence is unlikely, b/c surgeon prob did ileocecectomy. Pain in the area is no unusual, but you should get ct scan just to make sure there is no adhesive obstruction, especially closed loop obstruction, in the area. You need to see a GI surgeon if pain persists.

Not likely: A volvulus occurs because of redundancy (extra length) of colon. The fact that this excess was excised will likely prevent occurrence. However, you could be having symptoms from adhesions (scar tissue) that can accompany open surgery. Check with your surgeon.
