A member asked:

What are the causes for pain in the tailbone area? my tailbone area has been giving me much discomfort i've been experiencing symptoms of colon cancer, such as difficulty with bowel movements, reduced appetite, and abdominal pain. should i be worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You may have coccidynia, or inflammation of the tailbone. This can be caused by trauma. Comfort on sitting is best handled with a "donut" hole cushion. Your doctor should be contacted, and possibly X rays might be useful.
