Recently my mother had a chest x-ray and it showed "cardiomegaly with unfolding of aortic arch"....... what does it mean???? we are so worried about her?

True cardiomegaly needs to be addressed by a doctor to determine the cause, and possibly prevent progression to cardiac failure. Unfolding of the aortic arch can occur with normal aging or due to slight change of position from an enlarged heart. By itself, unfolding does not mean much medically, and is commonly seen in older patients.

Yes I agree. An Echocardiogram is the commonly used test to determine cardiomegaly and also the heart function. This means going to a cardiologist who can check your mother's heart and guide you further.
