A member asked:

I try to walk most days every week for exercise. will that help lower blood pressure or is aerobic exercise better? if on a consistent workout program, when can i expect blood pressure to improve? weeks, months, years, never?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Walking is low intensity aerobic exercise, and would encourage at least 20-30 minutes, 3-4 times weekly at a minimum. Cannot predict whether blood pressure will improve, but if significantly elevated, must be therapeutically controlled. Work closely with your doctor.
