How long does it take to receive the prescription after the consultation?

Typically, prescriptions can take up to an hour to process. Call your pharmacy and ask if your prescription is ready. You can then pick it up at your convenience. Occasionally, a Dr will take slightly longer to input their note and send the prescription. In that case try calling back after a few hours and re check with the pharmacy.

Most prescriptions are taking seconds only as they are electronically sent, sometimes they are not sent in real time, meaning that the doc sends them later in the day when completing documentation. Pharmacies also may take some time in picking and preparing them. Other times the provider forgets to send them/ they are not needed or changes their mind after getting information from other sources.
